APC Youths Withdraw Support From Taraba Gov

On Friday, youths affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, under the banner of “Hope for Taraba 2027,” organized a solidarity march through the streets of Jalingo.
Their objective was to urge Senator Emmanuel Bwacha to run for the governorship election in 2027.
During a briefing with journalists at the NUT House, the youths characterized Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration as a regrettable error for the people of Taraba.
Hon. Abdulrazak Mahmud Limam, the group’s leader, and Wilson Oguche, the APC youth secretary, expressed concerns about Governor Kefas’ leadership, stating that it is leading Taraba towards decline.
“After closely observing Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration, we have concluded that the governor is regressing Taraba State instead of advancing it. This issue transcends party affiliations; it concerns the development of Taraba,” they stated.
“His poor performance is rapidly pushing Taraba into a state of decay. We appeal to President Bola Tinubu to rescue us from this predicament by supporting Senator Emmanuel Bwacha’s candidacy for Taraba State governor in 2027.
“We seek Senator Bwacha’s leadership to liberate the state from its current challenges and to rescue us from the looming threat of being ranked high on the global poverty index,” the youths urged.
The group emphasized that Senator Bwacha’s track record in the southern senatorial district serves as compelling evidence that the 2023 APC governorship candidate can fulfill the citizens’ aspirations to elevate Taraba on the global stage in terms of economic and human development.
“Simply joining the APC is not sufficient justification to endorse Governor Kefas for a second term. Governance assessment research indicates that Kefas’ administration is the worst in the history of Nigerian governors, and we are experiencing the adverse effects firsthand.
“We cannot support Kefas solely because he is now part of the APC. We desire development that future generations will take pride in. We want the world to recognize us as a people who prioritize and envision development.
“Senator Emmanuel Bwacha has made notable contributions to southern Taraba, and we believe that, if given the opportunity to serve as governor, Taraba will transform into a welcoming hub for the world,” the group asserted.
