Hoodlums Kill Father Of Five At Mother’s Farm In Abia

Unidentified individuals on Monday December 29,2025 allegedly assaulted and fatally injured an indigene of Oputu Umungere Autonomous Community in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.

Reports indicate that the victim, Friday James Isaac, aged 49, was brutally attacked with either a log of wood or an iron object.

His lifeless body was discovered at his mother’s farm located at Isidee Farmland, mere hours following the incident.

Reliable sources disclosed that the deceased, a father of five—four daughters and one son—suffered injuries to his neck, face, shoulder, and head.

National Newsbreak gathered that an official report has yet to be filed with the police.

However, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Igbere was reportedly informed of the incident via telephone on the day of the tragedy.

The deceased’s body has since been deposited in a nearby morgue.

Upon inquiry, Mr. Michael Kalu, the Chairman of Oputu Village, and Mr. Ogwo Onyeukwu, the Chairman of Umungere Autonomous Community, confirmed the occurrence.

Both officials have pledged to ensure that the matter is thoroughly investigated and that those responsible are held accountable.
