Police Detain Two Individuals Over Alleged Theft Of Tricycle
The Imo State Police Command has announced the apprehension of two individuals in connection with a conspiracy and theft involving a TVS tricycle in Aba, Abia State.
The command’s spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP Henry Okoye, issued a statement identifying the suspects as Samuel Darlington Alaegbu Nnaemeka, male, 34 years old, and Praise Chukwunedumije Njoku, male, 37 years old.
According to Mr. Okoye, the arrests occurred on May 26, 2026, following the receipt of credible technical intelligence and the execution of a meticulously coordinated operation by police personnel.
Investigations have revealed that Samuel Darlington Alaegbu Nnaemeka was entrusted with a TVS tricycle with the registration number UMA 848 VC, which belongs to Mr. Tokila.
Mr. Okoye further stated that Nnaemeka allegedly conspired with his associate, Praise Chukwunedumije Njoku, to unlawfully dispose of the vehicle for personal gain.
He added that the suspects were on the brink of selling the stolen tricycle when they were apprehended by police operatives at Orji Road, Amawire axis. Their arrest facilitated the immediate recovery of the vehicle before it could be transferred to a prospective buyer.
The statement also disclosed that the suspects are currently in police custody and will be charged in court following the conclusion of investigations.
