I Plead With Nigerians To Give Obi A Chance-Ezebuiro
Sir Ceejay Henry Ezebuiro, the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the upcoming House of Representatives election in 2027 for the Ideato Federal Constituency of Imo State, has urged Nigerians to support the party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.
Ezebuiro characterized Mr. Obi as an unconventional politician, asserting that the former Governor of Anambra State has the best interests of Nigeria at heart.
He emphasized that Obi’s extensive experience in prudent resource management would significantly benefit the nation.
In an interview with National Newsbreak on Tuesday, Ezebuiro, an international businessman, stated that Obi would guide the country towards economic growth and prosperity if elected as the next president of Nigeria.
He remarked, “The records are available, and they speak for themselves. Mr. Peter Obi is a politician unlike any other. I do not perceive him as a conventional politician. He utilizes political platforms to realize his vision of a better Nigeria. My hope is that the people will grant him the opportunity; the outcomes will serve as testimonies.”
Ezebuiro also highlighted Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, his vice-presidential candidate, as a distinguished individual who continues to make significant contributions even after leaving office.
He stated, “We have the best captain in Mr. Peter Obi, the best goalkeeper in Kwankwaso, and I consider myself the best midfielder.”
Ezebuiro disclosed that his ambition to represent the Ideato Federal Constituency is driven by a desire to deliver the benefits of democracy directly to the people. He pledged to resign within two years if he fails to fulfill 60 percent of his commitments to his constituents.
The candidate, who plans to unveil his manifesto soon, indicated that he would not wait until he is elected and sworn in to initiate projects.
He encouraged admirers and supporters to visit his constituency in three months to witness the commencement of projects he intends to execute prior to his election to the National Assembly.
Ezebuiro criticized the incumbent representative of the constituency, Hon. Imo Ugochinyere, for failing to provide effective representation and instead engaging in negative advocacy and activism.
He expressed concern that the lawmaker’s negative activism had reached a point where he questioned when Ideato Federal Constituency had become part of Rivers State.
Ezebuiro expressed his discontent regarding Hon. Ugochinyere’s defense of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara during the lead-up to the governor’s suspension, particularly as the governor’s own representative remained silent. He emphasized that Hon. Ugochinyere should recognize that activism is not necessary after an election to enable the delivery of democratic dividends to his constituents.
