FUTO VC Disassociates From Impersonating Facebook Account
Professor I. N. S. Dozie, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), has formally distanced himself from a Facebook account that misuses his name and image.
In a statement issued by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Orakwe Ezugwu, Professor Dozie clarified that he does not maintain any personal Facebook account and denounced any such accounts claiming to represent him as fraudulent.
He emphasized that any Facebook account utilizing his name and likeness is entirely unrelated to him.
Consequently, he urged the public to exercise caution regarding fraudsters who exploit fake accounts to deceive unsuspecting individuals.
Professor Dozie stated, “I kindly request that you refrain from engaging with, responding to, or providing money, gifts, or personal information to anyone operating such accounts.”
The University Management encourages anyone who encounters similar accounts to report them to Facebook immediately and to notify the university.
