Youth Sets Holy Bible Ablaze, Declares Christianity A False Religion

A video circulating on social media has captured a 23-year-old man, whose identity is unknown, setting a copy of the Holy Bible ablaze at an undisclosed location in Imo State.

The incident, which occurred on Sunday, August 30, 2026, has generated concern among members of the public, particularly Christians, following the young man’s provocative statements and his apparent rejection of the Christian faith.

In the viral video, the young man was seen setting the Holy Bible on fire while declaring that he wanted the video to go viral.

He said, “I want the video to go viral. There is no power in the Bible. I am denying the Bible now. It is said to be the word of God, but there is no power in it. It is full of deceit and lies. Nothing concerns me and the Bible anymore.”

He further declared that there is no power in the Bible, while questioning the faith and belief of Christians.

A background voice heard in the video also described the Bible as an ordinary book, claiming that it was powerless.

While destroying the Bible, the young man challenged the religious claims surrounding the scriptures, saying that if there was truly power in the Bible, as many Christians believe, he should not wake up the following day.

He also stated that, in the past, he had used the Bible to wrap his hemp before smoking, apparently referring to his previous use of the Bible in connection with his smoking habit.

In another part of the video, he referred to the biblical account involving the prophets of Baal and the confrontation during the days of Christ, before declaring his rejection of the Christian God.

He was heard saying, “I am denying the God of Heaven. It is false,” while insisting that the Christian faith was based on what he described as falsehood.

The video has continued to attract reactions from viewers, with many describing the incident and the young man’s statements as disturbing and offensive to Christian beliefs.

However, as at the press time, the identity of the young man, the exact location where the incident occurred, and the circumstances surrounding the video could not be independently established as of the time of filing this report.
