Ex-Imo AG, Akaolisa Unveils Foundation
Chief C. O. C Akaolisa, a former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Imo State, has inaugurated his Ezinwanne Leadership Foundation.
The inauguration ceremony was held on Sunday, November 30, 2025 in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
The ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, who was represented by his deputy, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, accompanied by her husband, Chief Chukwuma Ekomaru, SAN.
Other notable attendees included the Secretary to the Government of Imo, Chief Cosmas Iwu, the Chief of Staff of the Government House, Barrister Nnamdi Anyaehie, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Sir MacDonald Ebere, Chief Marcellinus Nlemigbo, who served as the Chairman of the occasion, and Honorable Chike Okafor, the member representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
In his remarks, Chief Marcellinus Nlemigbo, the Chairman of the occasion, praised Chief Akaolisa for his foresight in establishing the foundation. He characterized the initiator of the foundation as a visionary thinker and advocate who consistently devises practical solutions to challenges.
During a lecture entitled “Leadership and Governance in Imo State: An Appraisal,” Prof. O. C. Nwebo, former Vice Chancellor of Imo State University (IMSU) Owerri, compared the administration of Senator Hope Uzodimma to that of the late Chief Samuel Mbakwe.
He commended Governor Uzodimma for his infrastructural development in the state, likening him to an embodiment of Chief Mbakwe.
In his address, Chief C.O.C Akaolisa, founder of the Ezinwanne Leadership Foundation, recounted the foundation’s origins, dating back to 1990, when he established it to support indigent widows in his ancestral Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.
The former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice emphasized that the necessity for credible governance has driven the enhancement of the foundation to promote the ideals of effective leadership.
A notable highlight of the unveiling ceremony was the presentation of an award to the governor.
Speaking after receiving the award on behalf of the governor, his deputy, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, expressed gratitude to the Ezinwanne Leadership Foundation for the honour.
She also commended Prof. O. C. Nwebo for his positive appraisal of Governor Uzodimma.
Distinguished guests extended goodwill messages and financial support to the foundation.
