FUTO Holds 37th Convocation Ceremony
The Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) has announced its 37th Convocation ceremony, scheduled for Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, 2025.
A statement issued by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Nnenna Oti, revealed that a portion of its graduates will be conferred with first degrees on Friday, December 5, while others will receive higher degrees, postgraduate diplomas, and honorary degrees on Saturday, December 6.
Both events will be held at the University’s Convocation Arena, commencing at 10:00 a.m.
The statement further noted that the convocation ceremony will be preceded by a press briefing and an exhibition show on Tuesday, December 2.
Additionally, an ecumenical service is scheduled for Wednesday, December 3, followed by the 37th Convocation Lecture on Thursday, December 4.
The Convocation Lecture, titled “Beyond Oil: Exploring Alternative Revenue Potentials for Economic Growth and Sustainable Development in Nigeria,” will be delivered by Abia State Governor Alex Otti, OFR.
