Amuneke Expresses Readiness To Revitalize Heartland FC

Emmanuel Amuneke, the Technical Manager of Heartland FC of Owerri, has expressed his determination to revitalize the team.

He emphasized his commitment to restructuring and elevating Heartland FC to achieve significant success in both national and international competitions.

Amuneke made these remarks following Heartland FC’s narrow 3-2 victory over Inter Lagos FC on Saturday, December 6, at Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.

The 1994 African Footballer of the Year underscored the importance of scoring goals to win matches, and conveyed Heartland FC’s readiness to enhance their goal-scoring abilities in future games.

Amuneke also extended his gratitude to the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for his support and encouragement in the club’s pursuits.

Additionally, Shakiru Giwa, the Coach of Inter Lagos FC, praised his players for meeting expectations, which was evident in the final outcome of their match against Heartland FC.

He described his players as young, enterprising, and prepared for future challenges, while acknowledging their good reflexes and mobility, and noting that there remains room for improvement.

Heartland FC has participated in four matches in the Nigeria National League (NNL) this season, securing two victories, one draw, and one loss, thereby accumulating seven points.

The club was relegated from the Nigeria Premiership League last season due to inadequate performance.

Sports administrators have largely attributed the team’s relegation to Amuneke, suggesting that he has not achieved success in his coaching role.
