The Taraba State Government announced on Thursday the initiation of a new round of employment opportunities within the civil service.
Mr. Philip Kundila, the Chairman of the Taraba State Civil Service Commission, disclosed during a press briefing that a total of 1,805 applicants are targeted for employment in this exercise.
According to the Chairman, previously identified ghost workers have also been integrated into the civil service.
Kundila explained that this initiative is in response to Governor Agbu Kefas’ directive to recruit more qualified citizens into the state civil service, following an extended period of inactivity in employment within the state.
He further stated that the newly integrated workers, numbering 3,187, represent the first phase of the employment initiative under Governor Agbu Kefas.
The Chairman advised applicants to remain vigilant against fraudsters who may approach them under the pretense of offering assistance.
He cautioned that any individual found engaging in such activities will face legal consequences, emphasizing that the recruitment process is free of charge, with an application fee of only 3,000 Naira.
“Do not provide money to anyone claiming to assist you in securing employment. The recruitment process is free,” he stated.
“All applicants must adhere to the established procedures, and those who qualify will be shortlisted for interviews. Only qualified candidates will be employed to ensure a high standard of civil service in Taraba State,” the Chairman warned.
The Commission Chairman, along with the Permanent Secretary, Comrade David Nyan, expressed gratitude to Governor Agbu Kefas for this initiative and for approving funds for the renovation of the Commission’s secretariat.
