Taraba Commissioner , Philip Ties Nuptial Knot

Honorable Habu James Philip, the Taraba State Commissioner for Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation, has entered into matrimony with Faith V. Lullah in a grand traditional ceremony. This event celebrated the unity and love between the Mambilla and Tiv communities.

The ceremony, held over the weekend, was a significant occasion attended by numerous dignitaries from diverse backgrounds, including in-laws from Sadaurna LGA and Bali LGA.

The atmosphere was vibrant, enriched by traditional music and dance performances that heightened the celebratory spirit.

During the event, Hon. Philip expressed his deep appreciation to his family, friends, and well-wishers for their unwavering support.

He stated, “I am grateful for the love and support of my family and friends as I embark on this new journey. My marriage is a testament to the power of love and community.”

The bride, Faith V. Lullah, appeared radiant in her traditional attire, exuding joy as she exchanged vows with her partner.

Their love story serves as an inspiration to many, and their union marks a celebration of love and commitment.

Elder Japheth Wubon, a retired Permanent Secretary, speaking on behalf of the bride’s family, expressed gratitude to God for the successful marriage ceremony.

He highlighted the deep-rooted connections between the Tiv and Mambilla people, emphasizing the enduring relationship between the two tribes.

“Your ancestors lived at the Mambilla Plateau before us but later moved to other parts of the State and nation due to unsuitable soil conditions for their crops.

“The Mambilla people are known for their friendliness and hospitality, much like the Tiv people. We pray that today’s event will further strengthen our relationship,” he said.

Representing the groom’s family, His Royal Highness, Zaki (Dr.) David Gbaa Tela JP, the Ter Tiv Bali/Tiv Central Leader, extended appreciation to the bride’s family for their warm reception.

“We are delighted to welcome our sister from the Mambilla tribe into our family. The resemblance between my son and his wife is evident, and we are thrilled to have her with us. I thank Elder Japheth Wubon for reaffirming our history. It is well-known that the Tiv people are integral to Taraba State, despite political narratives suggesting otherwise,” he stated.

As the couple eagerly anticipates their white wedding, scheduled for November 22, 2025, where they will exchange marital vows amidst gospel renditions and heartfelt speeches, family, friends, well-wishers, and political associates are pleased to see Hon. Habu continue to make an impact and shape policies, now with a supportive partner by his side.
