Stop Making Hollow Promises, Anyanwu Tells Uzodimma
Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, a grassroots politician and gubernatorial aspirant in Imo State, has urged Governor Hope Uzodimma to refrain from making unfulfilled promises to the people of Imo, asserting that such evident deceit will not garner their support in the future.
Anyanwu, who serves as the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, recalled a misleading commitment made by Uzodimma during the 2023 election, wherein he pledged to facilitate employment for 4,000 Imo youths in Europe.
He lamented that three years have elapsed without the fulfillment of this promise.
“Just as he failed to deliver on his commitment to take 4,000 Imo youths to Europe for employment opportunities purportedly secured during the 2023 election, Uzodinma has now issued another hollow promise to complete all initiatives he commenced before his tenure concludes. This represents yet another transparent attempt to deceive the unsuspecting. The people of Imo have become more discerning; Uzodinma must seek alternative means to mislead them. However, I assure him and his team that no degree of deceit or empty promises will compel the people of Imo to support him,” he stated.
He cautioned that if Governor Uzodimma persists in this deceptive approach, the future of Imo youths and the broader populace would be jeopardized.
Anyanwu consequently encouraged the people of Imo to align with the PDP and its candidates, assuring them that the achievements that the APC-led government has failed to realize in seven years could be accomplished by the PDP in less than two years in office.
He emphasized that the party is formulating a comprehensive blueprint aimed at alleviating poverty, enhancing the economy, addressing issues affecting civil servants and pensioners, increasing wages for teachers and lecturers, and stabilizing government institutions for optimal performance.
Anyanwu affirmed that the PDP’s blueprint for Imo State will be presented to all party candidates for endorsement, expressing confidence that this initiative will effectively address the myriad challenges resulting from poor governance in the state.
