Police Confirm Death Of Girl Pushed From Two-storey Building
The Imo State Police Command confirmed on Wednesday the death of 17-year-old Chiamaka Chukwuokore, who was allegedly pushed from a two-storey building by 26-year-old Ifeanyi Chukwu Joseph.
The incident occurred on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Mbonu Ojike Street, Ikenegbu, Owerri, Imo State.
Chiamaka was the niece of Joseph’s girlfriend, whose identity has not been disclosed. The three individuals were reportedly living together at the time of the incident.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Henry Okoye, the command’s spokesperson, Chiamaka succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at the medical facility to which she was transported immediately following the incident.
Okoye further stated that Joseph, who was apprehended shortly after the event, remains in police custody.
The spokesperson emphasized that investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and to ensure that justice is achieved.
Additionally, Commissioner of Police (CP) Audu Garba Bosso expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and assured the public that a comprehensive investigation will be conducted.
The Command urged the public to remain calm, refrain from disseminating unverified information, and allow the police to perform their duties with professionalism.
