Bemore Provides Girls With Opportunities for Growth, Says Founder
Dr. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, founder of the Bemore Empowered Girls Foundation, has emphasized that the annual two-week intensive Bemore Summer Boot Camp offers participants the chance to exceed their own expectations.
Dr. Anyanwu-Akeredolu made this statement during her welcome address at the opening ceremony of the 2026 edition of the boot camp, which is being held in Ibadan, Oyo State.
This year’s camp commenced on Monday, August 24, 2026, with the participation of 30 girls.
Dr. Anyanwu-Akeredolu, who is currently campaigning for the Owerri Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the Labour Party, encouraged the participants to engage with curiosity, ask questions, foster friendships, respect camp authorities, collaborate, and step beyond their comfort zones, while emphasizing the importance of self-belief.
She stated, “You have been provided with an opportunity to become more, and I urge each of you to leave this camp better, stronger, wiser, and more confident than when you arrived.”
The former First Lady of Ondo State asserted that the development of women and girls is a fundamental objective of her manifesto.
According to her, the advancement and well-being of any society are significantly dependent on the empowerment of its female population.
Dr. Anyanwu-Akeredolu, who holds the esteemed traditional titles of Ada Owere 1 and Ada Emeabiam 2, maintains that a society that invests in its women and girls lays the foundation for sustainable development.
She expressed her gratitude to the partners and sponsors of the program while assuring parents of the safety and well-being of their children and wards during the camp.
