Orji Health Centre To Serve As A Healthcare Hub-Imo Commissioner

The Imo State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Chioma Egu, has revealed that the Health Centre in Umundula Orji Community will serve as a healthcare hub for other health centers in Owerri North Local Government Area.

Dr. Egu made this known during a courtesy visit by the executives of the All Progressives Congress, APC Orji Ward, and community elders to her office in Owerri.

According to her, the Health Centre is designed to be a comprehensive facility with a doctor’s changing room, nurses’ quarters, and a pharmacy that will supply drugs and other essentials to other health centers.

Dr. Egu, daughter of Prince Lemmy Akakem, APC’s Apex Leader in Owerri Zone, pledged to work tirelessly to improve the Orji Community, expressing gratitude to Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma for the project and urging residents to pray for the governor’s continued success.

She also commended Governor Uzodimma for executing numerous projects without letting his second term affect his productivity.

The Commissioner thanked her father for instilling in her the importance of education and good morals, vowing to make him proud.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Sir Adinnu Kennedy, praised Dr. Egu for her dedication to the people, noting that attracting the health center project to Orji demonstrates her love for her community.

Earlier, Chief Amanze C. P. Njoku, Administrator of Nfunala Development Initiative, had thanked the Commissioner for the project and requested that the access roads in Orji Community, particularly the one leading to the health center, be tarred.

He also pleaded with Dr. Egu to facilitate employment opportunities for qualified Orji indigenes in the state’s Civil Service.

Hon. Austin Achilike, former Transition Committee Chairman, Owerri North LGA, described Dr. Egu’s rise as no surprise, citing her brilliance and seriousness from a young age.
Hon Achilike also requested road reconstruction in Orji Community.
