Nwodu Emerges 2025 Best LG Chairman Of The Year
The Executive Chairman of Ehime Mbano Local Government Area, Chief Uche Nwodu, has received a prestigious award as one of the best performing local government chairmen of the year 2025, particularly in rural healthcare service delivery.
The Nigerian Local Government Chairmen Merit Award was presented to him at a ceremony held at Merit House in Abuja on Wednesday.
Chief Nwodu, accompanied by his wife, attributed his achievement to serving the people of Ehime Mbano without expectation of recognition.
He expressed gratitude to the award organizers and pledged to utilize his office to uplift the local government area’s residents.
Notably, he dedicated the award to Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, citing him as a model.
The CEO of the Nigerian Local Government Merit Award, Chief Bayo Ojo, described awardees as national brands and exemplary models in service delivery.
He highlighted their ability to overcome challenges and deploy resources to improve the quality of life for their constituents.
The Minister of Agriculture, Senator Abubakkar Kyari, praised local government chairmen for their efforts in supporting the president’s declaration of a state of emergency on food security.
He encouraged them to continue their good work.
The event was attended by prominent dignitaries from Imo State, including Hon. Chike Okafor and former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim.
