Age Shouldn’t Be A Barrier To Achieving Educational Milestones -AIFUE Don
The family and friends of Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Amanze Njoku gathered on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Immaculate Heart Catholic Parish Orji, Imo State for a thanksgiving service celebrating her successful attainment of a Doctorate in Public Health.
Dr. Mrs. Njoku, who has many years of teaching experience at the Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education (AIFUE) in Owerri, recently earned her Ph.D. in Public Health from the Ignatius Ajuri University Port Harcourt.
She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Education from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) and a Master’s in Public Health, from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
Following the service, attendees were invited to her residence in the Orji Community for a reception.
Among those present were Justice Paschal Nnadi, former Chief Judge of Imo State; Prince Lemmy Akakem, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Elders, Imo State, Oha Iheanyi Ekeocha, and Professor Margaret Ewuzie, who led Dr. Mrs. Njoku’s colleagues in attending the event.
During the event, Dr. Njoku expressed her gratitude to God and her family for the support that enabled her to achieve the pinnacle of her academic endeavours in her field of study.
She advised individuals to regularly check their health status and urged governments to adequately equip medical centers in tertiary institutions and in the broader society.
Dr. Njoku lamented the tendency of the nation’s leaders to swiftly seek medical treatment abroad while neglecting domestic health institutions.
Dr. Njoku, who obtained her Ph.D. in her fifties, emphasized that age should not be a barrier to achieving educational milestones, asserting that the key requirement is the determination to overcome challenges.
In addition, her husband, Chief Amanze C. P. Njoku, praised Dr. Njoku for her unwavering dedication to advancing her academic endeavors.
Chief Njoku revealed that he pledged to support his wife and any other family member in reaching the highest level their abilities could achieve.
Chief Njoku, a History graduate from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, expressed his gratitude to friends, associates, and family who joined in celebrating with them.
