Nigeria Drifting Into Anarchy Under Tinubu -OYC

The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) has expressed concerns that Nigeria is rapidly descending into anarchy and political instability under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

The Council criticized the current environment characterized by intimidation, harassment, and victimization, particularly in relation to the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

In a formal statement, the National President of the Council, Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, denounced what he described as the executive recklessness of the Tinubu administration.

He asserted that Nigeria is on the brink of anarchy, purportedly orchestrated by President Tinubu in an effort to suppress voices of justice, opposition, and reason in anticipation of the 2027 general elections.

Igboayaka compared the state of Nigeria under Bola Tinubu’s leadership to a ship on the verge of capsizing after being struck by a tornado, warning that the arrest or detention of Omoyele Sowore could exacerbate the situation.

Reports indicate that the Nigerian police arrested Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) and the convener of the #FreeNnamdiKanu protest, at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

On October 20, police apprehended protesters, including Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, Prince Emma Kanu, Barrister Kingdom Nnamdi Okere, and others.

They were subsequently arraigned at Kuje Magistrate Court and remanded in custody at Kuje Prison.
