Man Dies After Wife Chops Off Genitals In Taraba

A tragic incident occurred in Maigoje village, Mai Idanu Ward, Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State, where a 24-year-old housewife, Maimuna, allegedly severed her husband’s manhood.

The victim, 30-year-old Haruna Ishaka, succumbed to his injuries hours after the attack.

The incident transpired around 11:15 p.m. on Monday during a reported domestic dispute at the couple’s residence.

Sources informed our reporter that the deceased, a Fulani man, was attacked following disagreements regarding his alleged interactions with younger women outside of his marriage.

It was reported that Maimuna had repeatedly cautioned her husband to refrain from such behavior, but he did not heed her warnings.

Haruna reportedly passed away in the early hours of Tuesday and was subsequently buried in accordance with Islamic rites, while his wife fled the village.

On Friday, Victor Mshelizah, the spokesperson for the Taraba State Police Command, confirmed the incident, stating that the Divisional Police Officer was en route to the scene.

“I am aware of the report. The DPO is currently heading to the location,” Mshelizah stated.

The police indicated that an investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
