Iri-Ji: Ezuruezu Mbaise Approves Rotational Hosting

The Governing Council of Ezuruezu Mbaise, under the leadership of President General Surveyor Joe Ogbonna Anosike, has officially sanctioned the 2026 IRIJI MBAISE Central Planning Committee and the rotational hosting among clans, appointing Tpl Chief Steve Onu as Chairman.

The Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area has been selected to host the 2026 IRIJI MBAISE. The grand finale will occur on August 15, 2026, at Oke Ovoro Secondary School, Uvuru.

This decision aligns with the resolution by the Mbaise community to rotate the IRIJI MBAISE Cultural Festival among its five clans.

The 2026 IRIJI MBAISE National Cultural Festival will include a special Mbaise Colloquium in partnership with the Mbaise People’s Congress, a farmers’ exhibition, and cultural dance performances from the five Mbaise clans, in collaboration with Ndi Eze Mbaise.

During the Governing Council meeting, the Chairman of the host Local Government Area, Barrister Iheukwumere Alaribe, assured attendees that the 2026 IRIJI MBAISE would feature significant innovations aimed at attracting esteemed members of the global community.

In accordance with Ezuruezu Mbaise’s established policy to limit IRIJI MBAISE to a cultural event devoid of political affiliations, Barrister Iheukwumere assured the Mbaise community that the event would solely serve to showcase the Mbaise cultural heritage to the world.

Barrister Iheukwumere, the Aboh Mbaise Local Government Chairman, further emphasized the strong spirit of solidarity among all Mbaise sons and daughters and promised that the event would focus on developmental progress, irrespective of political and religious affiliations.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the 2026 IRIJI MBAISE Central Planning Committee, Tpl Chief Steve Onu, pledged to deliver an exceptional event and sought the cooperation of all Mbaise sons and daughters.

The IRIJI MBAISE Central Planning Committee has promptly commenced its activities to ensure the smooth and timely execution of the programs, with support from the “Local Organising Committee” of the host clan.
