Imo. Judges Commence 2026 Annual Vacation

Judges in the Imo State judiciary are scheduled to commence their annual vacation for the year 2026 on Saturday, August 1, 2026. The vacation is set to conclude on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

This information was conveyed by the Acting Chief Judge, Justice I. O. Agugua, in a letter dated June 25, 2026, and addressed to the six branches of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) within the state.

The letter further indicated that the judges will resume their duties on October 2, 2026. Additionally, the letter, signed by Dr. Anthonia Emenyonu, Secretary, also informed that the Acting Chief Judge has appointed three vacation judges.

These judges are Justice Obinna Nwachukwu, overseeing the Owerri, Aboh Mbaise/Mbaitoli Ikeduru Divisions; Justice Matthew Ijezie, responsible for the Orlu, Oguta, Oru, Nkwerre Divisions; and Justice C.O. Chukwumaeze, covering the Okigwe, Mbano/Etiti Divisions.
