IBC Shifts Golden Voices Awards To February 20

The management of Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC), which operates Orient 94.5FM and Orient TV Channel 59, has announced the rescheduling of its Golden Voices Awards to Friday, February 20, 2026.
Originally, the awards ceremony was planned for Friday, February 13, 2026.
The management, however, refrained from providing any justification for the change in date.
The Golden Voices Awards, initiated in 2025 by the management team led by Ify Onyegbule, serve as IBC’s means of acknowledging the significant contributions of some former staff members to the station’s development, which is affectionately referred to as ‘The Clearest Voice East of The Niger’.
During the inaugural edition in 2025, the radio organization posthumously honored two of its former Directors-General, Evangelist Esther Obong-Egbuna, widely known as Sister Eee, and Chief Chudi Onuzo.
Additionally, it recognized the contributions of Onyebuchi Onyeikegbulem, Joe Ehioma, Chike Osuji, Coleman Nwanne, Mahakwe Ike, and Isaac Anyanwu.
Madam Chinyere Okere and Mrs. Imelda Oyiogu were also honored.
The radio organization has, however, kept the identities of this year’s honorees confidential.
It is worth noting that last year’s honorees did not receive any monetary rewards.
The IBC Director-General, Ify Onyegbule, explained that this was due to the organization’s inability to secure corporate sponsorship.
It remains uncertain whether this year’s honorees will receive any monetary rewards.
