Friends Celebrate Okenze Nkwoji At 70
The esteemed Traditional Prime Minister of Egbelu Obube Autonomous Community in Owerri North Local Government Area, Okenze George Nkwoji, who also serves as the Proprietor of Nigerian Moment Newspaper, was honored by friends and well-wishers on the occasion of his 70th birthday last Sunday.
The celebration, held at his country home, commenced with a church service at Holy Trinity Anglican Church Egbelu Obube was attended by the Traditional Ruler of the community and his spouse.
In his sermon, the officiating priest, Reverend Canon Daberechi Maduakolam, referenced Deuteronomy 8:17-18, which emphasizes the harvest of prosperity, in line with the church’s seasonal activities focusing on harvest and thanksgiving to God.
In his remarks, the Traditional Ruler, His Royal Highness Eze Nwogu, acknowledged the challenges faced by Okenze so far, which he ultimately overcame through divine grace.
He noted that despite the celebrant’s trials, his children experienced births and marriages.
He expressed gratitude to God for granting Okenze the grace to reach the age of 70, attributing this milestone to his benevolent nature towards others.
At the reception held at his country home in Egbelu Obube, Okenze conveyed his appreciation to God for sustaining his health and vitality to reach 70 years.
He extended gratitude to his family for their understanding and tolerance, describing them as the source of his strength and the comfort that enabled him to attain his current age.
Okenze Nkwoji, the Eturugo of Egbelu Obube, took the opportunity to thank his friends and associates who attended the event, particularly the people of Obube for their expressions of love and respect.
He wished everyone a prosperous season and encouraged them to prioritize peace as the cornerstone of their social life within the community.
Among the distinguished guests present were His Royal Highness Eze Jude Nwogu and his wife, the former Commissioner for Labour and Productivity, Chief Ford Oxumba, Etodike N’Orsu, alumni of Government College Owerri, the former Editor of Nigerian Moment Newspaper, Sir Collins Ughalaa, the former House of Assembly member for Owerri North, Honorable Dan Ikpeazu, and numerous others.
