Ex-Aides Honour Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu
The former aides of the late Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu have praised his virtues, describing him as a true father, motivator, torchbearer, patriot, and visionary leader.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Owerri, Imo State, the group of former aides expressed that neither death nor time can diminish the impact of Uwajumogu’s leadership on their lives.
The former aides, consisting of advisers and assistants, pledged to uphold the former speaker’s vision and ideals for a better society.
While offering prayers for the angels to guide the deceased on his journey beyond, they affirmed that their lives will reflect the deceased’s ideals.
Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu served as the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015 before securing a seat in the National Assembly to represent the Imo North Senatorial District.
He defeated Senator Athan Achonu (Agu Otuaka) in a by-election in 2016 after Achonu’s initial electoral victory was annulled by the tribunal and confirmed by the Court of Appeal.
Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu subsequently won re-election but passed away while in active service in 2019.
The group of former aides includes Samuelson Iwuoha, Kodichi Anamekwe, Emeka Ahaneku, Godson Amadikwa, and Ifeanyi Nwannenna.
Others are Obinna Chiedo, Ijeoma Obialor, Hope Kemka-Osuji, Chukwuonye Okonkwo, Obinna Chima, Ugwu Osuagwu, Ugochukwu Anyanwu, Isabella Herbert, and Emeka Benson.
Additionally, the group comprises Ugochi Anyanwu, Last Don, Onyinyechi Onwu, Madame Ethel, Kingsley Ndubueze, Amaka Eronini, Ifeoma Ndubueze, Anayo Uwajumogu, Dan Orji, Ijeoma Anugum, Pastor Tony, Uloor, Randy, Godwin Odiegwu, Chris Akomah, and Supol Omeudo.
