Ex-Abia Commissioner , Supporters Join Labour Party
The Labour Party (LP) is set to host a grand reception on Sunday, May 24, for the former Commissioner for Works in Abia State, Chief Ukwu Rocks Emma, along with thousands of his supporters.
The event will take place at Ama Nkwo Ndielu Ugwueke Community, located in the Bende Local Government Area of the state.
According to reports, the entire structure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is expected to merge into the Labour Party during this reception.
In a statement, Sunday Chukwuemeka, the Chairman of the Labour Party for Ugwueke/Eze Ukwu Ward, extends an invitation to all to attend the event and join in welcoming the distinguished Chief Emma and other prominent political figures into the party.
Chief Emma, a former state legislator and past chairman of the Bende Local Government Area, recently resigned from the PDP, citing the party’s loss of focus as his reason.
He remarked that the PDP’s direction had deviated from its originally agreed-upon path.
