Comedian Exposes Shocking Dilapidation of Primary School In Imo
A comedian known by the moniker Kevinblak has brought to light the alarming state of disrepair at a primary school within the Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
At Amasaa Primary School, students are compelled to sit on the hard, dusty floor in their classrooms to receive instruction.
In response, the representative for Aboh Mbaise Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Honorable Princewill Amuchie, has disclaimed any responsibility.
He asserted that he does not have control over any budget for infrastructure provision, clarifying that his only remuneration is his monthly salary.
Amuchie advised the comedian to address his findings to the council chairman, Barrister Henry Iheukwumere Alaribe, who is responsible for the allocations within the council area.
Concurrently, Dr. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, a former First Lady of Ondo State, has criticized the legislator for evading responsibility.
She stated, “This is the type of governance deflection to which Nigerians have become painfully accustomed. Everyone points fingers, yet no one assumes responsibility. The reality is that no one is absolved.”
Dr. Anyanwu-Akeredolu emphasized that, although a legislator does not oversee budgetary allocations, they possess the duty to address matters of urgent concern in the House, demand explanations, propose motions, and compel executive action.
She reminded Barrister Iheukwumere that the ultimate responsibility lies with him, asserting that he cannot abdicate responsibility in the manner of the legislator.
She further remarked that primary education, local infrastructure, and healthcare centers are the direct responsibility of the council authorities.
She expressed regret that, across various council areas, these authorities have failed to fulfill their constitutional obligations.
