APA North America/Canada Holds National Convention On May 24

All preparations are complete for the 2026 National Convention and Fundraising Gala Night of the Atta People’s Assembly of North America and Canada, which is scheduled for May 24, 2026 at Good Shepherd Hall, Stuyvesant Avenue, Irvington, New Jersey.

During an interview, the President of the Association, Chief Sir Godwin Ehirim, expressed his hopes for the convention, stating that he anticipates Atta citizens in North America and their friends will come together to support and uplift the town during this event.

Chief Ehirim explained that the purpose of the fundraising is to enhance the healthcare system in Atta and its surrounding areas.

He emphasized that the goals and objectives of the convention are centered around the idea that good health is wealth, and no community can develop without a properly functioning health system.

The fundraising aims to equip health centres in Atta and to construct suitable living quarters for the hospital’s nursing staff and matrons.

Chief Ehirim acknowledged that the association’s primary challenges include recruiting members, securing financial support commitments, and making strategic contributions to the rebuilding of Atta.

Sir Ehirim urged every Attarian to join the organization in its efforts to develop the town.

He also pledged to focus on addressing security issues, which he lamented as hindering progress in Imo State.

Chief Ehirim underscored the necessity for the organization to assist in enhancing the infrastructure of elementary schools in Atta.

He further appealed to federal, state, and local governments to become involved in efforts to improve Atta, particularly in areas such as security, road construction, social programmes, and youth employment.

He called for unity among all Attarian leaders—both domestically and internationally, including the EZES, NZES, PGS, and other community representatives—as a progressive and unified approach will benefit the entire community.

A statement released by the Public Relations Officer, Evangelist Evelyn Childs, announced that the convention’s theme is “IMPROVING HEALTHCARE IN ATTA.”

The event is scheduled from Friday, May 22 to Sunday, to 24, 2026.

The main Gala Night will take place on May 24, 2026.

This year’s convention will be hosted in New Jersey under the chairmanship of Sir Mr. Oliver Egenti, Mrs. Chika Iwuanyanwu, Sir Justin Okafor, Engr. Barnabas Lewis, and Lolo Stella Ezeilo.

The convention also includes the election of a new executive for the association.
