Imo Is Now Safe, Says Commissioner Of Police
The Commissioner of Police for Imo State, CP Aboki Danjuma, has stated that the previously unstable security situation in the state has been significantly controlled.
Commissioner Danjuma made this announcement during a courtesy visit to the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Ifeoma O. Agugua, at her office in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
The Commissioner attributed the improved security situation to the concerted efforts of the police and other security agencies.
He was accompanied on this visit by several senior police officers, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Hamzat Abdulkadir; the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Danshuwar Abuja; the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Owerri Metro Area Command, Michael Abattam; the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Intelligence Department, Adamu Ahmadu; the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of IG X-Squad Unit, Linus Nwaiwu; the Assistant Commissioner of Police for the State Criminal Investigation Department, Dan Iroakazi; and the Officer in charge of the Legal Department, Itua Francis, alongside multiple Divisional Police Officers.
Commissioner Danjuma emphasized the Command’s commitment to fostering effective collaboration with the judiciary and other essential stakeholders involved in the administration of justice.
He congratulated the Chief Judge on her appointment and extended his best wishes for her tenure in office.
Furthermore, he reaffirmed the Police Force’s mandate within the state, underscoring their dedication to ensuring the safety and security of residents while upholding the rule of law and the independence of the Judiciary.
In response, Chief Judge Justice Ijeoma O. Agugua expressed her gratitude for the visit, acknowledging the longstanding partnership between the Judiciary and the Police in maintaining law and order.
She emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the two institutions.
