2027: PDP Will Unseat APC In Imo, Says Anyanwu

Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, a top gubernatorial contender in Imo State and the National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has announced that preparations are underway for his party to secure victory in the upcoming 2027 elections.

Anyanwu emphasized that the PDP is not seeking to negotiate positions with any individuals, asserting that the party’s primary focus is to win all 27 House of Assembly seats, ten House of Representatives positions, and the three Senatorial Districts.

He urged PDP candidates in the state to resist any intimidation or harassment, stating that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has faced significant public rejection due to its evident failures in governance.

Known in political circles as “Samdaddy,” Anyanwu is recognized as a grassroots politician and a skilled political strategist whose achievements span both the Executive and Legislative branches.

He remarked, “My continued affiliation with the PDP since 1998 is rooted in the party’s commitment to its processes. It is well-documented that the PDP is the only party in Imo State that prioritizes the interests of the masses. A brief review of the party’s administrations in the state reflects a commitment to goodwill, effective governance, and an open-door leadership policy.”

Anyanwu pledged to restore the due process necessary for delivering the dividends of democracy in Imo State once the party’s candidates assume office. He also encouraged disenchanted members to seize this opportunity to rejoin the party before it becomes fully populated.

This announcement was made over the weekend during a gathering with party members and support groups in the state. He stated, “The PDP is the only party that has conducted the freest and fairest primary elections in the state,” noting that such adherence to due process has minimized litigation and fostered peace and unity within the party.

He asserted that the PDP in Imo State currently faces no litigation regarding its primary election process, in contrast to its political rivals, and expressed optimism that over 2,000 members from other political parties would soon join the PDP.

Anyanwu subsequently urged local government party chairpersons across the 27 council areas to collaborate effectively with all candidates and encouraged them to actively engage in grassroots campaigning.
