Uzodimma Appoints Onuegbu As Deputy Chief of Staff

Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of Imo State, has appointed Chief Enyinnaya Onuegbu to the position of Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations), reinstating the lawyer and politician to a significant role at the Government House in Owerri.

Onuegbu, who previously served as the Commissioner for Lands, Survey, Housing, and Urban Planning, is a well-known figure within the Uzodimma administration, having held various strategic positions in the past.

This latest appointment positions him among the governor’s senior political and administrative advisors.

A trained lawyer, Onuegbu was initially appointed as the pioneer Commissioner for Lands and Survey when Uzodimma first established his cabinet and was later transitioned to the Ministry of Power.

He subsequently held the roles of Chief Political Adviser and Head of the Political Bureau, a position to which he was reappointed in March 2024 following the governor’s reorganization of his administration.

Hailing from Ngor Okpala Local Government Area, Onuegbu also serves as the traditional prime minister of his community, where he is recognized by the title Ebekuodike.
