Police Deploy Drones To Track Criminals In Imo
The Imo State Police Command has introduced surveillance drones to enhance intelligence gathering and track criminal activities throughout the state, as announced by the Commissioner of Police, Audu Garba Bosso.
Commissioner Garba Bosso indicated that this deployment is part of ongoing efforts to identify and monitor suspects in collaboration with vigilantes under the Imo State Security Organization (ISSO).
According to the Command, the drone was donated by a civic-minded resident of the Ihiagwa Community in the Owerri West Local Government Area.
The police have described this donation as a testament to the positive impact of community partnership on security.
“The surveillance drone will bolster our intelligence gathering and support ongoing operations throughout Imo State,” stated Commissioner Bosso. “There will be no refuge for criminals within Imo State.”
The police have stated that the aerial surveillance will complement ground operations conducted by ISSO vigilantes as security agencies intensify their efforts to reduce crime in the state.
