Police Training School Nekede Graduates 264 Constables
The Imo State Police Command, on Tuesday 7 October, 2025, participated alongside the rest of the federation in the Passing Out Parade (POP) of 264 Police Constables from the 2022/2023 Batch B at the Police Training School in Nekede.
This event marked the culmination of intensive training undertaken by the recruits, who are now prepared to contribute to policing and internal security.
Notably, among the 264 recruits graduating, 159 originate from Imo State, while 105 are from Abia State.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, served as the Reviewing Officer of the ceremony, represented by the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma.
Distinguished attendees included Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, represented by the Chief Principal Security Officer (CPSO) to the State Government, CSP Shaba Gboyako Adamu; the representative of the Commander, 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze; Heads and representatives of allied security agencies; Traditional Rulers; members of the Imo State Command Management Team; family and friends of the graduating recruits; and members of the press.
The Reviewing Officer, delivering the address on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, congratulated the recruits on their endurance, discipline, and commitment throughout the training period.
He encouraged them to uphold the core values of the Nigeria Police Force—discipline, integrity, courage, and professionalism—while performing their duties with respect for the rule of law and human rights.
In a goodwill message, the Governor of Imo State, represented by his CPSO, CSP Shaba Gboyako Adamu, lauded the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force in maintaining peace and security within the state.
He commended the Inspector-General of Police for his visionary leadership and reforms, and urged the recruits to view policing not merely as a privilege, but as a sacred duty to protect lives, uphold justice, and defend the rule of law.
The Commandant of the Police Training School, Nekede, ACP Rilwanu Shuaibu, expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police for his support and leadership, and to the Commissioner of Police for his guidance.
He also acknowledged the officers and instructors who played critical roles in ensuring the success of the training programme.
Highlights of the ceremony included the march past and the presentation of awards to deserving recruits who excelled during the training.
