PDP National Secretary Endorses Madumere’s Senatorial Ambition
Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has officially endorsed the candidacy of Prince Eze Madumere, the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, for the Imo East Senatorial District contest.
Senator Anyanwu expressed his support during a speech at the party’s campaign rally held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Iho, located within the Ikeduru local government area of the state.
In his address, Senator Anyanwu emphasized that among all candidates in the Owerri Zone vying for the Senatorial seat, Madumere is the most qualified, possessing the necessary experience, exposure, capacity, and pedigree to deliver effectively, having served in various sensitive governmental positions.
He stated that Madumere’s extensive network and connections position him advantageously to negotiate strategically for the development of the Owerri Zone.
Senator Anyanwu remarked, “Madumere stands out among his peers. Since my departure from the Senate, I have not entrusted the leadership to anyone; today, I have decided to pass the mantle of leadership in the Owerri Senatorial Zone to Madumere, and by the special grace of God, it shall be so. I have assessed the other candidates from different political parties, and none possess the competence and expertise of our candidate.”
Anyanwu reiterated that the PDP is vibrant and prepared to confront its opponents directly, noting that the Rainbow Coalition serves as a catalyst for uplifting and harnessing the potential of political leaders across the nation.
He explained that he serves as the chairman of the Rainbow Coalition in the state, while the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike, acts as the National Leader, setting the pace for national development and cohesion.
Furthermore, he highlighted that mechanisms are in place to ensure his ascension as the next governor of Imo State through the efforts of the Rainbow Coalition.
Senator Anyanwu asserted that it is his turn to govern Imo State following the tenure of Hope Uzodimma.
He declared that the Rainbow Coalition is here to stay, asserting that anyone opposed to it is likely harboring personal insecurities.
He stated, “The Rainbow Coalition, as championed by our leader, Barr. Nyesom Wike, remains a significant platform for us to achieve our dreams and aspirations. The Rainbow Coalition is established, and anyone against it is likely fearful and has personal issues to confront.”
In his address, the PDP Senatorial candidate for the Imo East District, Prince Madumere, indicated that he has engaged experts to conduct an aerial assessment of the zone and has initiated a needs assessment to align his efforts with the expectations and aspirations of the people.
Prince Madumere emphasized his commitment to continuing the work initiated by Senator Anyanwu in the Senate, ensuring the completion of all ongoing projects.
He revealed that his ambitions extend beyond the Senate, aiming to work diligently to reclaim the governorship of the state.
Madumere predicted an influx of individuals seeking to join the party in the coming weeks and urged party members and stakeholders to welcome them and facilitate their registration.
He stated, “I am seeking your mandate to represent Owerri Zone in the Senate because I believe our people deserve an experienced, accessible, and effective voice in Abuja.
“My mission is clear: to advocate for greater opportunities for our youth, promote women’s economic empowerment, pursue federal projects for our communities, and support policies that enhance the lives of our people.
“Our constituents deserve more than mere promises; they deserve representation that listens, leadership that engages, and a Senator who recognizes that public office is a responsibility to the people.
“My fellow citizens, let us unite as one family. Let us build a strong team capable of advocating for our communities, promoting development, and pursuing opportunities for our people at both federal and state levels.
This journey transcends individual ambitions; it is about the future of Ikeduru, the progress of Owerri Zone, and our collective determination to amplify our voices.
In his remarks, the state chairman of the PDP, Barr. Austin Nwachukwu, affirmed that the party is vibrant and urged members to demonstrate commitment, resilience, and courage as the elections approach.
Additionally, the PDP Zonal Secretary, Hon. Mike Ahumibe, stated that the party is poised to reclaim power in the Owerri Zone, emphasizing that the upcoming election represents a significant opportunity and that all efforts must be coordinated.
He concluded by asserting that there is no better time to seize control of the zone, and as time progresses, divine grace will be sufficient for the party’s success.
