NAF Aircraft Crashes in Ondo with 32 Individuals On Board
An aircraft operated by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has crashed in the Igbokoda region of Ilaje Local Government Area in Ondo State.
According to Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, the aircraft, identified by its tail number NGR 931, was transporting 25 passengers and seven crew members, totaling 32 individuals.
Keyamo reported that air traffic controllers lost contact with the aircraft at approximately 9:13 a.m. while it was en route from Benin to Lagos. The wreckage was subsequently located near the Naval Base in Igbokoda.
The Nigerian Air Force has confirmed that the aircraft was engaged in a routine mission and has stated that search-and-rescue operations are currently underway in collaboration with relevant authorities and emergency agencies.
