Imo Guber Aspirant Ugochukwu Promises To Tackle Insecurity
A prospective candidate in the upcoming governorship election in Imo State, Honorable Chris Uche Angunus Ugochukwu, has committed to prioritizing the security of lives and property upon assuming office as governor of the state.
In a statement released to National Newsbreak over the weekend, Honorable Ugochukwu expressed regret over the security challenges that have plagued the state since 2020 and vowed to put an end to this menace.
He outlined his strategy for addressing these challenges through community policing, intelligence gathering and sharing, economic empowerment, judicial reforms, and inter-agency collaboration.
He lamented that years of misgovernance have inflicted a devastating impact on the state, resulting in citizens living in fear, businesses being stifled, and children being denied access to quality education.
Honorable Ugochukwu, originally from Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area and currently residing in Switzerland, also pledged to provide free quality education to every child in Imo, create thousands of job opportunities for the youth, and deliver quality, affordable healthcare for the citizens.
It is significant to note that the youths of Imo State have collectively chosen Honorable Ugochukwu as their preferred candidate for the governorship position of Imo State in the year 2027.
This decision was reached unanimously during a meeting convened in New Owerri on Tuesday March 10, 2026.
Honorable Chris Uche Angunus Ugochukwu is vying for the governorship position under the banner of the African Democratic Party (ADP).
