Imo Govt Shuts Down Eight Markets For Tinubu

Eight markets are to remain closed throughout the duration of President Bola Tinubu’s visit to Imo State, according to the state Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Investment.

President Tinubu is billed to pay a one-day working visit to the state on Tuesday September 30, 2025.

Government, in a statement, listed the markets to be Relief Market, Owerri; Imo Auto Market Naze and Imo International Market Alaba.

Others are Imo International Market Egbeada; Imo Timber and Allied Market Naze, Imo International Cluster Market, Naze, Imo Cluster Market Hausa Section and Imo Mechanic Village, Avu.

The statement signed by Rex Anunobi, State Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Investment directed leaders of the affected markets to ensure absolute compliance.

He also ordered the traders to troop out en masse to welcome President Tinubu.
