Firm Gives Completion Date For Renovation of Imo Concorde Hotel
The ongoing renovation work at Imo Concorde Hotel Owerri is to be rounded off in December 2025, according to the Raycon Construction Company handling it.
The Construction Manager of the company Mr Sarkis disclosed this on Tuesday September 23, 2025 when he conducted members of Imo State House of Assembly Committee on Culture, Tourism and Creative Arts round the hotel.
Mr Sarkis said the firm was working round the clock to ensure that the December deadline was achieved.
Also speaking, the Imo State Commissioner for Tourism, Jerry Egemba, a lawyer observed that quality work was being done at the hotel.
He added that the timeline for completion which is December this year would be met
According to Egemba, the recommencement of commercial operations at the hotel would mark the beginning of excellence in the hospitality industry in the state.
In his remarks, the Director General Imo State Bureau for Public Procurement and Pricing Intelligence (BPPPI), Clifford Okoro disclosed that the bureau monitors and provides oversight of all public procurement activities to avert fraud and ensure that government contracts were awarded through competitive processes.
Okoro added that the bureau also visits project sites to assess progress of work.
Earlier, the Chairman House Committee on Culture, Tourism and Creative Arts, Hon James Esile lauded the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma for what he termed the governor’s prudent allocation of resources.
Esile, who represents Onuimo Constituency expressed satisfaction at the ‘quality work’ being done by construction company.
Other members of the committee who accompanied Hon Esile on the inspection tour were Princewill Amuchie, Clinton Amadi, Emeka Ozurumba, Bernard Ozoemelam and Mrs Ann Martins, Clerk of the committee.
