Ex-Ondo First Lady Clinches LP House of Reps Ticket

Dr. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the former First Lady of Ondo State, has secured the Labour Party’s nomination to contest in the upcoming House of Representatives election for the Owerri Federal Constituency.

Dr. Anyanwu-Akeredolu announced this development in a statement released on Wednesday via a WhatsApp platform.

“I hereby officially inform my family, friends, political associates, supporters, and the esteemed people of the Owerri Federal Constituency that I have successfully obtained the certificate of clearance as the Labour Party candidate for the House of Representatives, Owerri Federal Constituency,” she stated.

The former First Lady acknowledged that some individuals might be disappointed that she did not secure the ticket for the Owerri Senatorial Zone, which she had actively pursued.

However, she explained that the decision to transition to the House of Representatives was made in the interest of party unity and stability.

She emphasized her commitment to being a team player, believing that sacrifice, cooperation, and unity are essential for building a stronger and more formidable political platform for success in 2027.

Dr. Anyanwu-Akeredolu reiterated her unchanged mission of representing her constituents at the National Assembly.

She expressed her intention to promote female representation in elective positions and to provide compassionate, courageous, and purposeful leadership grounded in experience, credibility, competence, and a commitment to serving humanity.

She urged her supporters not to lose hope, faith, or determination but to continue the journey alongside her until they successfully reach their destination.
