Artist, Paddy Obinna Passes Away
The art community mourns the loss of esteemed art collector and educator, Ndaa Paddy Obinna.
Ndaa Obinna, the elder brother of The Most Rev Anthony Valentine Obinna, the former Archbishop of the Owerri Ecclesiastical Province, passed away earlier this week.
His family conveyed the news of his passing through a statement signed by his son, Sir Chiagozie Paddy Obinna.
The late Ndaa Paddy Obinna, who previously served as an Advisor on Arts and Culture to the Imo State Government, was renowned for his artistic contributions and innovative spirit.
The family statement reads: “It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that the Paddy Obinna Family of Umuocham, Emekuku, Owerri North LGA, announces the passing to glory of our beloved friend, brother, father, and grandfather, Ndaa Paddy Obinna—a name cherished with love, respect, and fondness by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
“Ndaa Paddy led a life characterized by artistry, innovation, grace, service, and wisdom. His voice, counsel, and presence will be deeply missed; however, the values he instilled in us will endure.
“We pray for the peaceful repose of his soul and implore our Good Lord to grant him eternal rest in His embrace. Amen.”
