2026 INPA Awards Ceremony Holds On November 28 In Owerri
Awards are presented to individuals to acknowledge, appreciate, and honor their exceptional contributions, achievements, and services to society.
Despite the decline in moral standards and honest labor observed in humanity, there remain individuals committed to righteous living, who strive for excellence in their chosen fields. This includes elected officials who utilize public resources to implement transformative projects, civil servants who, despite earning modest wages, demonstrate punctuality, dedication, and commitment, and students who diligently study to achieve the status of valedictorian.
Awards are conferred upon those who have reached significant milestones. Such accolades not only motivate recipients to pursue even greater accomplishments but also inspire younger generations to emulate positive role models.
The Imo Newspaper Publishers Association (INPA) recognizes the importance of awards and has established an annual awards ceremony to celebrate the best in society, thereby inspiring future generations. Clearly, a society thrives on the presence of role models and ideals to aspire to.
Historically, INPA has honored distinguished individuals such as the late Rt Hon Bethel Amadi, former President of the Pan African Parliament (PAP); Her Excellency Dr. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, former First Lady of Ondo State; and Eziopara Ben Amanze Anyanwu, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Chris Ben Group.
In 2025, the organization also recognized Ezinwa Stanley Amuchie, Executive Director of Fidelity Bank PLC; Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, former Chief of Staff to the Government House in Owerri; Chief Alexander Mbata, Chairman of ABM Group; Dr. Ejike Lucky Chukwu, Chief Executive Officer of Megadrill Nigeria Limited; High Chief Duru Mike Ejiogu, Chairman and Group Managing Director of Citygate Group; and Hon. Miriam Onuoha, member representing Okigwe North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Additional honorees included Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP); High Chief Canice Moore Chukwugozie Nwachukwu, member representing the Orlu/Orsu/Oru East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives; and Dr. Chijioke Kaduru, a public health expert and Chairman of the Nkwa Chi Kwere Foundation.
Preparations are currently underway for the 2026 INPA Awards Ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, November 28, 2026.
The event will take place at the prestigious Golden Vista Hotel, located opposite the Ahiajoku Convention Centre in New Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
During the ceremony, which will be chaired by distinguished real estate entrepreneur and lawyer Chief Obioma Success Akagburuonye, several eminent individuals will be honored with INPA awards of excellence in recognition of their contributions across various sectors of the economy.
The awards ceremony is expected to enhance the festive atmosphere of this year’s yuletide season in the state.
