Elder Statesman, Ralph Obioha Dies At 80
Elder statesman Chief Ralph Obioha, Okpuruisizuruoha II of Arondizuogu in the Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, has passed away.
His family announced his demise in a statement dated October 3, 2026, and signed by Chima Obioha. He was 80 years old.
“Chief Ralph Obioha was, above all, a cherished father, husband, brother, grandfather, and friend. Our family will remember his kindness, strength, humor, generosity, faith, and unwavering devotion to family,” the statement read.
The family further noted, “Many Nigerians recognized Chief Obioha as a patriot, elder statesman, political leader, and businessman. Throughout his life, he was deeply committed to Nigeria’s progress and the ideals of service, leadership, and nation-building. His life encompassed business, public affairs, and politics, and he was a respected voice in national discourse, firmly believing in our country’s potential until his passing.
“His departure has created an immeasurable void in our family; however, we find solace in the richness of his life, the lives he touched, and the legacy of service he leaves behind.
“The family expresses deep gratitude for the prayers, condolence messages, and expressions of love that have been received. We respectfully request privacy as we mourn and come to terms with this profound loss.
“Funeral and memorial arrangements will be announced in due course. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
