Ogbuagu, Onyekachi, 8 Others Pick PDP Reps Tickets
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State has successfully conducted its primary elections on Sunday, May 17, 2026, across various Local Government Areas, resulting in the selection of candidates for the ten House of Representatives seats within the state.
The individuals who have been chosen as standard-bearers include former House of Assembly member and House of Representatives candidate, Rt. Hon. Uche Ogbuagu, representing the Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency; Chief Samuel Christian Onye, the President of the Igbo Community in Gkoko, Benue State, for the Okigwe/Onuimo/Isiala Mbano Federal Constituency; Barr. Ikenna Emeruem for the Ehime Mbano/Ihitte Uboma/Obowo Federal Constituency; and High Chief Joseph Chukwuma Ikunna for the Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta/Oru West Federal Constituency.
Additionally, the list comprises three women candidates: Iheme Ndidi Olachi Ulumma, Nwadike Peace Adanna, and Princess Oleka-Chinedu, who are aspiring to represent the Owerri Federal Constituency, Nkwere/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency, and Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency, respectively.
This selection process underscores Imo PDP’s dedication to upholding the party’s constitutional mandate of 35% affirmative action for women in both elective and appointive political positions, under the adept leadership of the State Chairman, Rt. Hon. Austine Nwachukwu.
