Easter: Police Beef Up Security Around Churches, Event Centres In Imo
The Imo State Police Command has announced that security measures have been enhanced at worship centers, motor parks, major highways, and event centers to ensure a seamless Easter celebration throughout the state.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Audu Garba Bosso, made this announcement through a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Henry Okoye.
He assured state residents that they could partake in the Easter celebrations and conduct their business activities without fear of harassment.
According to CP Bosso, the command, in collaboration with other security agencies, has intensified its presence at key public locations to maintain order during the festive period.
CP Bosso added; “Furthermore, the State Intelligence Department (SID) has been instructed to enhance intelligence gathering efforts to ensure the safety of citizens during the Easter festivities.
“Traffic personnel, in conjunction with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), are prepared to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic and promote road safety during this time.
“All Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Team Commanders have been cautioned that any security breaches within their jurisdictions will not be tolerated. Personnel are expected to perform their duties professionally while adhering to the rule of law and respecting citizens’ rights”.
