RCCG Choir Member, Peculiar Wins Ladies Hangout Talent Hunt

A member of the choir at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Owerri, Imo State, Miss Peculiar Amaihe, secured first place in the 4th edition of the Talent Hunt competition organized by Ladies Hangout, a project initiated by an esteemed Christian lady, Mrs. Lola Billy, on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

The event held at Phoenix Arena situated at 9 Maranatha Street, New Owerri.

Miss Amaihe achieved a score of 13.6 points, surpassing 20 other contestants with her exceptional vocal abilities and charisma, thereby emerging victorious.

The first and second runners-up were Mr. Overcomer Okafor and Mr. Dominion Excel, who obtained scores of 12.5 points and 11.6 points, respectively.

The winner received a prize of N100,000, while the first and second runners-up were awarded N75,000 and N50,000, respectively.

The remaining contestants received a consolatory prize of N5,000 each.

The panel of six judges commended the winners and encouraged them to continue refining their skills, while also advising the other contestants to persist in their efforts for improvement.

During the event, Mrs. Lola Billy expressed her gratitude to God for her creation as a human being and for the ability to breathe oxygen freely.

She described the program as divinely inspired, stating that God had guided her to establish it as a means of giving back to society.

Mrs. Billy reminisced about the modest nature of the inaugural edition held at Heroes Square, Owerri, and the advice from her pastor to continue the program, which led to the subsequent second and third editions.

She noted that the Holy Spirit had begun to guide her on how to organize the fifth edition.

She also expressed her gratitude to the attendees for their time and presence, which contributed to the event’s success.

Speaking on behalf of the winners, Miss Peculiar Amaihe thanked Mrs. Lola Billy, the organizer of the Talent Hunt, whom she described as an incredible woman.

She also expressed appreciation to those who encouraged her to participate in the competition, acknowledging their belief in her.

Miss Amaihe revealed her intention to participate in more singing competitions and pursue a career in music.

Both Overcomer Okafor and Dominion Excel also expressed their gratitude to God for their success in the competition and to the organizer for her generosity.

The Ladies Hangout featured a spoken word presentation by Sister Princes and a talk show on the topic: ‘Reigning in Christ.’

The talk show panelists urged believers to consistently exercise their authority in Christ and conduct themselves in a manner that exemplifies the fruits of the Spirit.
