Made In Nigeria Project Partners Taraba Youth Agency For Economic Growth

By Godwin Agia, Jalingo

The Made in Nigeria Special Project Office on Friday facilitated a partnership with the Taraba State Youth Development Agency, aiming to empower young entrepreneurs and foster economic growth within the state.

Hon. Justin Tyopuusu, the State Coordinator of the Made in Nigeria Special Project, announced this development during a courtesy visit to Mr. Gara, the Chairman of the Taraba State Youth Development Agency.

According to Mr. Tyopuusu, the partnership seeks to promote local production, stimulate entrepreneurship, and expand non-oil economic opportunities.

He described the visit as a means to strengthen institutional collaboration in order to drive youth empowerment and economic growth in Taraba State.

Mr. Tyopuusu emphasized that the Made in Nigeria Project is an initiative of the Federal Government, under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. The project aims to promote indigenous production, bolster local industries, stimulate entrepreneurship, and expand Nigeria’s non-oil export potential.

He reiterated the project’s commitment to empowering Nigerians, particularly young individuals, to produce, innovate, and compete effectively in both local and international markets. The project focuses on building a resilient, production-driven national economy.

The partnership will center on identifying and supporting young entrepreneurs in the fields of manufacturing and agro-processing. It will facilitate training and capacity-building programs, connect youth-led businesses to markets and investment opportunities, and promote innovation and local content development.

The Made in Nigeria Project is anticipated to reduce unemployment, strengthen social stability, and drive sustainable economic growth in Taraba State. The initiative is particularly timely, given Nigeria’s overreliance on oil revenue and the necessity to diversify the economy.

Mr. Gara, Chairman of the Taraba State Youth Development Agency, pledged the Agency’s full support for the Made in Nigeria Project and assured that the Agency’s doors remain open to ensure the program’s success in Taraba State.
