Osuji Family Dissociates Self From Burial Of Patriarch On Feb 7

The children of the late Mr. Livinus Ikechukwu Osuji, of Imerienwe Autonomous Community in Ngor/Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State, have publicly dissociated themselves from any plans to inter their father’s remains on Saturday, February 7, 2026, or any other date, without their explicit consent.

In a statement issued to National Newsbreak on Thursday, the family revealed that a purported court order, obtained by Mr. Emmason Alaribe Osuji and Mrs. Marycana Osuji, which empowered them to seize and retain the late Mr. Livinus Ikechukwu Osuji’s body, has been nullified.

Consequently, the family emphasized that no valid court order currently exists that authorizes any individual or group to retain the body or proceed with the burial without the children’s approval.

The children stated unequivocally that they have not granted permission to any individual, group, or faction of the family to conduct the burial of their father.

They declared any arrangements to proceed with the burial ceremony on the stated date to be unlawful, invalid, provocative, and a gross violation of their rights.
