Imo Lawmaker Settles 16-Year-Old Family Feud
A member of the Imo State House of Assembly, Mr. Innocent Ikpamezie, has successfully resolved a 16-year-long conflict within the Umudionu Odumara kindred of the Obi-Orodo Community, located in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.
The reconciliation was achieved during a tripartite meeting held at the assembly complex, where the legislator presided over discussions between the two disputing families.
National Newsbreak learnt that the longstanding feud had resulted in numerous fatalities within the two conflicting families of Amafor.
Despite efforts by notable figures, including the traditional ruler of Obi-Orodo Community, Eze Samuel Ohiri, previous attempts to mediate the dispute had been unsuccessful.
During the meeting, Honorable Ikpamezie underscored the importance of reestablishing peace among the families and obtained their commitment to fostering harmony.
Following this commitment, the lawmaker symbolically presented the family members with a glass of water, signifying mutual forgiveness.
Furthermore, he requested the Chairman of the kindred, Mr. Stanley Onumajuru, to organize a meeting on Saturday, January 31, which he personally intends to address.
In their statements, individuals such as Nnadozie Anoebi, Onuoha Vincent, Uche Ozurimba, Godwin Amafor, Victor Ikwuajulam, Ambrose Ohiri, and Bartholomew Madufor expressed their gratitude to the lawmaker for his intervention.
Additionally, Pa Callistus Amafor extended his thanks to Honorable Ikpamezie for his involvement and pledged to maintain peace within the kindred.
