Imo Community Disavows Monarch-Designate
The Ikembara Autonomous Community in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State has dissociated itself from the purported election of one Francis Chigozie Agim as the Eze-elect of the community.
The community stated that the emergence of the said Agim was fraudulent and in clear contravention of the community’s constitution.
In a statement signed by Charles Onukwugha, Chief Clifford Unachukwu, Prince Leo Olebara and others, the community blamed an individual it described as an impostor President-General for Agim’s emergence as monarch-designate.
The community disclosed that there are two pending High Court suits seeking to restrain the impostor President-General from taking actions such as the one that has purportedly produced Agim.
It expressed regret that despite the pending suits, the impostor President-General and his cohorts decided to defy the rule of law.
The community advised the Imo State Government, Ikeduru Local Government Council, and the general public to disregard anyone claiming to be the Eze-elect of the community.
According to the community, the Imo State Government, Ikeduru Local Government Council, and the general public would be notified whenever the community intends to commence the selection and/or election of its traditional ruler.
