2027: Taraba APC Closes Sale Of Expression Of Interest/Nomination Forms

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State has announced that the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms has been concluded, with the deadline for submitting completed forms is set for Tuesday, May 5
In a special message directed to the aspirants on Monday, Aaron Artimas, the State Publicity Secretary, outlined the strict packaging requirements for the forms and reiterated the mandatory payment of administrative charges for those aspiring to the National Assembly and governorship positions.
Artimas instructed all aspirants to produce ten photocopies of the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms. These copies, along with the attached documents, are to be placed in ten separate envelopes. The original copies of both forms should be placed in one additional envelope, resulting in a total of eleven envelopes.
He further directed that aspirants must write their names and state constituencies on each envelope and then wrap all eleven envelopes together. Upon completing this process, they should await further instructions regarding whether to submit the forms to the National Secretariat or retain them at the State Office.
The statement emphasized that the State Working Committee has insisted on the payment of administrative charges as part of the qualification requirements. Specifically, House of Representatives aspirants are required to pay N3,000,000, Senate aspirants N5,000,000, and governorship aspirants N10,000,000.
Artimas cautioned that aspirants must fully comply with the payment directive, noting that these fees are separate from the cost of obtaining the nomination forms.
Meanwhile, the party sought to clarify a report by the Daily Trust newspaper regarding the endorsement of Governor Agbu Kefas, describing it as premature. The report was likened to putting the cart before the horse.
“While the endorsement of Governor Agbu Kefas has become a fait accompli based on the sentiment of leaders attending the special strategy meeting, His Excellency is more concerned about ensuring a peaceful process for selecting and endorsing other candidates through consensus,” he stated.
He further explained that a formal endorsement may occur at a more appropriate time, once the issue of other candidates has been amicably resolved. Additionally, he noted that many states have already concluded their consensus arrangements for all elective positions..
