2027: Bende Forum-New Abia Endorses Gov Otti, Anyaso
The Bende Forum-New Abia, a political pressure group in the Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, has officially endorsed the candidacy of Governor Alex Chioma Otti for a second term, as well as Dr. Chimaobi Anyaso, the Labour Party candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election in the Bende Federal Constituency.
This endorsement was announced in a communiqué issued following a meeting held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, in the Igbere Community.
The communiqué, presented by Chief Ukwu Rocks Emma, the chairman of the forum, highlighted that the support for Governor Alex Chioma Otti is rooted in his remarkable performance during his first term.
It underscored the necessity for continuity in the ongoing rapid transformation observed in the state under Governor Otti’s leadership.
The forum asserted that Abia State has not experienced such progress as it has under Governor Otti.
Additionally, the forum expressed its endorsement of Dr. Chimaobi Anyaso’s ambition to represent the Bende Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, citing his superior qualifications and track record compared to other candidates.
However, the forum firmly opposed the notion of granting a third term to any individual, condemning the hypocrisy of those who previously opposed third-term initiatives and committed to a limit of two tenures, yet have now shifted their positions due to personal interests.
The communiqué was co-signed by Chief Ukwu Rocks Emma, Chairman; Deacon Uwabunkonye Bassey, Mayor of Bende; and Hon. Nduaka Nworisara, Secretary, among others.
